Volunteer Description:

AGAPE is at an exciting stage of growth, and we have incredible opportunity to share our first 5 years of impact with foundations to seek their support. Specifically we are seeking somebody with strong writing ability who can help our management and development team to write proposals to potential supporters. Responsible for research and to establish relationships with family and private foundations and corporations, and work with program staff to write grant proposals and promotional materials, and reports on implementation of donor programs.

 

Responsibilities:

·         Identify and research appropriate grant opportunities across a variety of funding sources (i.e. private foundations, public foundations, corporate giving, etc.) NOTE: we do not target government funding sources

·         Draft letters of intent, grant proposals, and supporting grant materials

·         Donor database management, maintain accurate and current data files, including giving histories, profiles and interactions

·         Communication, maintain and create stewardship with donors, send out thank you notes, impact reports, summary evaluations to better target our donor audience

 

Requirements:

·         Strong written communication skills; ability to write clear, structured, articulate, and persuasive proposals

·         Attention to detail

·         Ability to meet deadlines

·         Ability to work on several projects at various stages of completion

·         Knowledge of fundraising/grant information sources

·         Experience with proposal writing and institutional donors

·         Knowledge and familiarity with research techniques for fundraising prospect research

·         Strong contributor in team environments
