AGAPE’s Commitment to Recycling and Sustainability on Global Recycling Day

At AGAPE Love From Above to Our Community, we believe that taking care of people and taking care of the planet go hand in hand. As we celebrate Global Recycling Day, we want to highlight the many ways AGAPE is working to reduce waste, recycle responsibly, and promote sustainability in Columbia, Montour, and Northumberland Counties.

AGAPE’s Recycling Efforts

Did you know that AGAPE actively recycles and upcycles a wide range of materials to help keep them out of landfills? Here’s how we’re making an impact:

♻️ Metal, Glass, Plastic, and Paper Recycling – We ensure that office paper, newspapers, aluminum cans, plastics, and glass are recycled properly, reducing unnecessary waste.

♻️ Cardboard Recycling – We recycle all cardboard packaging from donated items, keeping it out of landfills and in the recycling stream.

♻️ Upcycling Furniture, Appliances, and Housewares – We extend the life of large appliances, furniture, and household goods by repairing and repurposing them, giving them a second chance in a new home instead of being discarded.

♻️ Clothing Donations – By accepting gently used clothing, we not only provide much-needed resources to families but also reduce textile waste, which would otherwise take years to decompose in landfills.

Harnessing Solar Energy for a Greener Future

In addition to our recycling efforts, we’re taking a major step toward sustainability by installing solar panels on our facility’s roof! This project, set to begin later this month, will allow AGAPE to harness clean, renewable energy, reducing our environmental footprint while continuing to serve our community.
