Disaster Response

When disaster strikes, AGAPE steps up to serve. Our Disaster Response program is activated during widespread emergencies in Columbia, Montour, and Northumberland Counties—when a state of emergency is officially declared by local, state, or federal agencies.

During these events, AGAPE operates as the Columbia County Community Agencies Active in Disaster (CCCOAD), working in close partnership with:

  • Columbia County Emergency Management
  • FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency)
  • PEMA (Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency)
  • American Red Cross
  • Salvation Army
  • Other disaster relief organizations

Together, we coordinate aid, provide critical supplies, and support families and individuals through the recovery process.

In addition to local efforts, AGAPE serves as a collection hub for Mission Central (Mechanicsburg, PA), gathering disaster relief kits and essential supplies donated by churches and community members. These items are distributed during national and worldwide emergencies to bring hope and help wherever it’s needed most.
