What Food Assistance Looks Like at AGAPE
At AGAPE, we understand that food needs can show up in many forms. Whether someone needs a quick meal, a week’s worth of groceries, or access to fresh fruits and veggies, we offer options that meet people where they are. Our programs are free, welcoming, and designed to reduce food insecurity for individuals and families throughout our community.
Daily Bread: Filling the Gaps in Food Access
AGAPE’s Daily Bread program is our primary effort to fight hunger and provide practical food support in our area. Through Daily Bread, we offer several key services:
Emergency Food Assistance
If someone needs food right away, emergency food is available when you visit our site. Just ask our Front Desk Assistants when you arrive and we’ll help connect you with the food resources you need.
Community Meals
Community meals are offered regularly and provide hot, nourishing meals open to all. These events are more than just food – they offer a welcoming space where people can eat together in a relaxed, supportive setting.
Fresh Express Distributions
In partnership with the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank and local donors, AGAPE’s Fresh Express distributions bring fresh and shelf-stable food across our region. This program is not income-based – if you live in one of these counties, you’re eligible.
Columbia County Food Pantry Network
AGAPE is the lead agency for the Columbia County Food Pantry Network, offering income-based monthly food distributions at seven locations across the county. Emergency food is also available outside scheduled distribution times for urgent needs.
Senior Food Boxes
For older adults in need, AGAPE coordinates Senior Food Boxes filled with nutritious groceries. These boxes are delivered to homebound seniors across Columbia County through a partnership with DoorDash.
Where to Access Food Assistance
AGAPE’s food assistance programs operate out of our main location in Bloomsburg and through partner distribution sites. Neighbors can also access fresh food, pantry items, and community meals in nearby locations like Berwick as part of our broader service area.
Who Food Assistance Serves
Our food assistance programs are open to individuals and families in need, including those facing job loss, health challenges, transportation barriers, or financial hardship. Whether someone needs a regular pantry pickup or just a single meal, we work to connect neighbors with the food support they need to stay healthy and resilient.

How the Community Can Support Food Assistance
Food programs at AGAPE depend on local support from volunteers and partners. You can help by donating food items, supporting Fresh Express events, or assisting with community meal service. Every contribution helps us reach more neighbors experiencing food insecurity in Pennsylvania.
A Community Working Together
At AGAPE, food assistance is more than food on a plate. It’s about connection, dignity, and making sure that families have reliable access to the nutrition they need. For many of our neighbors, this support creates stability, builds trust, and strengthens our community.
